First-time use
How to Set Up the Casambi App:
Create a Network
- Download the Casambi app from the Apple Store or Google Play Store.
- Turn on your VILOOM light.
- Then open the app.
- The app automatically searches for the light that is turned on.
- Now tap “Add all lights to … My Network.”
- The app automatically creates a network.
Share the network (often required)
By default, the automatically created network is not shared and can only be controlled by the device used to create it; if you want to control it from multiple devices, you must adjust the sharing settings:
- To do this, go to the “More” tab in the app.
- Select “Network Configuration” > “Sharing Options” > “Sharing.”
- There are four options available to you there:
- Do not share
- Administrators Only
- Password-protected
- Open
- Select “Password-protected,” “Open,” or “Administrator Only,” and enter an email address and a password so that the network can then be controlled from other devices as well.
Operation
The app displays all your lights on the “Lights” tab.
Turning On and Off
Tap the light you want briefly.
Adjust Brightness
Tap, hold, and slide your fingers to the left or right at the same time to adjust the brightness.
Adjust Color Temperature
Tap, hold, and slide your fingers up or down at the same time to adjust the color temperature.
Customize brightness and color temperature
Press and hold the light you want. A menu will open where you can adjust the brightness for the top and bottom separately and set the light’s color temperature.
Groups
By grouping lights together, you can control them all at the same time.
Create a Group:
- On the “Lights” tab, tap “Group.”
- Tap the lights you want to add to a group. You can select or deselect all lights at once by tapping “+” or “-.”
- Tap the folder icon to create the group.
- Give the group a descriptive name and tap “Add New Group.”
- Then tap “Done” to save the changes.
Edit group:
- Tap “Edit.”
- Tap the group you want. Now you can change the group name or remove lights from the group by dragging them out of the group area.
Remove group:
- Tap “Edit.”
- Tap “X” to delete the group.
Gallery
The Gallery feature in the Casambi app offers a particularly intuitive way to control your lights. Simply take a photo of the room and place the lights directly on the image. To set it up, follow the step-by-step instructions in the app.
Scenes
With scenes, you can save your favorite lighting settings and create different lighting scenarios for various situations. This way, you can effortlessly create the perfect atmosphere for any occasion with just a few simple tips. A single light fixture can also be part of multiple scenes.
Create a Scene
- Tap “Edit.”
- Tap “+” to create a new scene.
- Enter a name for the scene and select “Add Scene.”
- Tap the lights you want to add to the scene. By tapping “+” or “-“, you can select or deselect all lights at once.
- Adjust the lights individually using the usual controls. If you want to add lights from a group, double-tap the group to open the selection screen.
- Tap “Continue.” In the menu, you can customize the name, icon, and color for scene control.
- Tap “Done.” Your scene has now been created and can be activated with a quick tap.
Edit Scenes
- Tap “Edit”
- Tap the scene you want to edit.
- You can now adjust the individual lights using the usual controls.
- Tap “Continue.” In the menu, you can customize the name, icon, and color for scene control.
- Tap “Done.” Your scene has now been edited and can be activated with a quick tap.
VILOOM Wireless Switch
With the VILOOM wireless switch, you have numerous options for controlling lights or activating preset scenes. To set up the wireless switch, you’ll need the Casambi app and a configured network.
Set Up the Wireless Switch
- Press any two buttons on the VILOOM wireless switch to activate it.
- Tap the “More” tab
- Tap “Nearby Devices”
- Select the VILOOM wireless switch and add it to your network.
- Tap the “More” tab again
- Tap “Switch”
- Select the VILOOM wireless switch and configure the individual functions for each button on the configuration page.
Apple Watch
With the Apple Watch, you can easily control your lights or activate preset scenes. The brightness of the light can be adjusted continuously, for example, by turning the digital crown. Your watch connects to the lights via Bluetooth—you don’t need to have your Apple iPhone nearby.
